We live in a world that has been designed for men and by men. In this project, I am looking to address gender-biased design in male-dominated workplaces which create a hierarchical health and safety value system among bodies. With a focus on the firefighting field, I Identify the areas of opportunity and develop one example. The result is a glove designed with women in mind as a response to the ill-fitting gloves
available, with the goal of improving the firefighter’s performance. Ultimately using design to shift traditional norms.
